The Hardwick Panto is an institution which has been running for many years.
The annual performance at John Bridle’s Hall in January or February is devised & written by Farmer Bob, who also directs and stars as the dame. He gets his inspiration while driving his tractor (and the pantos at Waterside & Milton Keynes theatres).
He has a long-standing team of local actors who are current or past Hardwick residents. Backstage are a talented team of set builders, lighting engineers, costume designers & makers and make-up artists – Bob’s costumes & make up always take the longest!
There are only 2 performances on the same day and both are always sold out. It is free to get in BUT you have to pay to get out! The proceeds are always donated to local charities – Hardwick Village Community Association are regular beneficiaries. The 2020 panto was Dick Whittington which raised a record breaking £1025 – £513 was donated to MIND & £512 was donated to HVCA.
A big thank you to Bob & all his team for giving us so much fun & those who made the donations.
