The 2020 Poppy Appeal in Hardwick
This year we were unable to do our usual door to door collections and other fundraising events for the Royal British Legion. Hardwick Village Community Association and the Parish Council collaborated to “bring the poppies to the people”. Lest we Forget – Poppy Tribute in Hardwick November 2020
The Poppy Tribute on the large green in Hardwick has been created because this year there are no services for the public to attend on Remembrance Sunday. Four Hardwick residents are recorded on the war memorials:

Farmer by Day Part 2 The Second Generation
Farmer Bob’s son Paul & his wife Rose are continuing the Gregory farming dynasty in Hardwick.

Hardwick (virtual) Open Gardens 2020
Every summer Hardwick hosts an Open Garden Event in, usually on the last Sunday in June. Up to a dozen gardens open their gates to visitors from far and wide as well as residents & their family and friends. St Mary’s Church is open for teas and homemade cakes and more recently the Bell pub has provided complimentary Pimms for garden visitors.

The Hardwick Panto is an institution which has been running for many years.
The annual performance at John Bridle’s Hall in January or February is devised & written by Farmer Bob, who also directs and stars as the dame. He gets his inspiration while driving his tractor (and the pantos at Waterside & Milton Keynes theatres).
