On Saturday 19th November 2016 the Hardwick Craft Circle held a Vintage 1950’s themed Michaelmas Market in the John Bridles Hall. Thanks to the generosity of this wonderful community over £1800 was raised for the St Mary’s Church Glass Wall & Restoration Fund.
A BIG thank you to all those who, over the past year, have been frantically making handcrafted items & collecting Bric a Brac.
Thanks also to all those who baked cakes & scones and donated raffle prizes and to everyone who helped on the day with the Craft, Bric a Bric and Cakes & Produce stalls. We had a continuous ‘army of willing tea ladies’ both from the Church and the Hardwick Village Association who served delicious Cream Teas throughout the event. We are grateful to the Weedon Knitting Group and to the Abbotts View Alpaca Farm for supporting us with their stalls.
The first prize in the raffle .. a £50 voucher for The Bell very kindly donated by Ben .. was won by Sarah Hoskinson ….. and a lovely meal was had that evening.
Sarah Gregory won the bottle of Veuve Cliquot for guessing the number of ‘Buttons the jar’. Chris Kelly of Aylesbury won the Christmas cake for guessing its weight and Adam Shepherd won the jar of sweets.
The prize for the best vintage outfit just had to go to Johanna Bowman-Shaw for her wonderful hat!
